Terms of Service

Last updated: June 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of These Terms

Welcome to Haze. Haze is an anonymous, local, after-hours social app for adults — company on your terms. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Champlin Enterprises ("Haze," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of Haze, located in Illinois, USA.

By creating a handle, accessing https://joinhaze.com, or using any part of Haze, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Haze.

These Terms work alongside two other documents you should read: our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we handle it, and our Content & Safety Policy, which spells out what is and isn't allowed on the platform. Both are part of your agreement with us.

2. Eligibility — You Must Be 21 or Older

Haze is strictly for adults aged 21 years or older. This is not the typical 18+ cutoff. No one under 21 may access or use Haze for any reason.

By using Haze, you affirm that:

Haze is an adult platform that permits adult content between consenting adults. The 21+ floor is firm, and we enforce it. If we learn that a user is under 21, we will remove their access.

3. Your Anonymous Account and Your Responsibility for It

Haze is built around anonymity. You join by choosing a handle and a color — no real name or legal name is required. Your account is associated with a neighborhood and an approximate location so the local experience works.

Anonymity is a feature, not a loophole. You are fully responsible for everything that happens under your handle, including every post, message, image, and interaction. Keep your access credentials private. If you believe someone else is using your account, contact us at [email protected].

You may not create accounts to evade a ban, impersonate another person or business, or operate automated or bulk accounts.

4. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

Haze is a space for adults to connect honestly. Use it that way. The following are strictly prohibited, and several carry zero tolerance:

Haze permits adult and NSFW content between consenting adults, subject to our Content & Safety Policy. Permission to post adult content is not permission to break the rules above. When something is prohibited, it is prohibited regardless of context.

5. Your Content and the License You Grant Us

You own the content you create on Haze, and you are responsible for it. By uploading or posting — room posts, direct message text, DM attachments, or a reveal photo — you confirm you have the right to share it and that it doesn't violate these Terms or anyone's rights.

To run the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, re-encode, transmit, and display your content for the purpose of operating Haze. This license exists only so we can show your content to the people you're sharing it with. We re-encode uploaded images server-side, which strips embedded EXIF and location metadata.

Haze is built to be ephemeral. Posts expire — roughly 8 hours at night and roughly 48 hours by day — and rooms close. We do not guarantee that any content is stored, retained, backed up, or recoverable. If something matters to you, keep your own copy. Ephemerality is the point, not a bug.

6. Direct Messages, the Trust Reveal, and Consent

Direct messages let you talk one-to-one. Built into DMs is a mutual, consent-based trust reveal: identity is shared one step at a time — first a photo, then a name — and only when both people agree to each step.

Consent here is mutual and revocable. No reveal happens unless both people opt in, and choosing to reveal one thing does not obligate you to reveal anything more. You can stop, decline a next step, or block the other person at any time, for any reason. Blocking ends the conversation.

Be decent in DMs. The prohibited-conduct rules apply in private messages exactly as they do in public rooms.

7. Reporting, Moderation, Suspension, and Termination

We give you tools to keep your experience safe, and we use our own.

We may remove any content and may suspend or permanently ban any account at our discretion — especially where safety is at stake. We don't promise a warning before acting, and we don't have to explain every decision, though we try to be fair. Serious or repeat violations, and any zero-tolerance violation, mean permanent removal.

You can stop using Haze and delete your account at any time. Some obligations in these Terms survive the end of your account, including those about content licenses already granted, prohibited conduct, disclaimers, and liability.

8. Safety When Meeting People

Haze can lead to meeting real people. Please take this seriously.

We do not verify identities, and we do not conduct background checks. A handle, a color, a photo, or a revealed name tells you what someone chose to share — not who they truly are. Meeting people from the internet carries real risk, and you are responsible for your own safety.

If you decide to meet someone:

You understand and accept that interacting with and meeting other users is at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, Haze is not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or in person.

9. Disclaimers

Haze is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that content will be retained. We do not warrant the conduct, identity, or trustworthiness of any user. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Champlin Enterprises and its founder, team, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Haze — including anything that happens between users online or in person. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use Haze in the prior twelve months, or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Champlin Enterprises and its founder, team, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of Haze, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

12. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

Haze is a living product. We may add, change, or remove features, rooms, or venue partners at any time, and we may pause or end the service. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and take reasonable steps to let you know. If you keep using Haze after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, stop using Haze.

13. Governing Law and Resolving Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Illinois are the proper venue for any dispute that reaches a court.

Before that, let's try to settle things directly. If you have a problem, contact us first at [email protected] and give us a fair chance to resolve it informally. Most issues can be worked out without a courtroom, and we ask that you reach out in good faith before starting any formal proceeding.

14. How to Contact Us

We're a real team, and we read these inboxes:

Thanks for treating Haze, and the people you meet here, with respect.
