## What Haze is

Haze is **company on your terms** — human connection for adults without the contract. It's the gap nobody serves well: not a dating app, not Meetup. You join anonymously (a handle and a color, never a real name), see who's around your neighborhood or a specific bar right now, and reach out — or don't. Posts expire (8 hours at night, 48 by day), rooms close, and nothing follows you. There's no profile to perform, no followers to keep up with, no streaks. The anonymity and the ephemerality aren't features bolted on for privacy — they're what makes it safe to show up at all.

- **Venue rooms.** Real bars, cafes, and restaurants get their own room that's alive only during their hours. Walk into a place, drop into its room, post to the floor, DM whoever catches you — then look up; they're across the bar.
- **DMs + the trust reveal.** DM anyone from their post. You stay anonymous; identity reveals one tier at a time — a photo, then a name — only when it's *mutual*. Accept, decline, or block, always your call.
- **Day Mode / Night Mode.** Two experiences on one app — a warm cafe by day, the back room of a bar at 1am by night.
